The right air purification system can go a long way toward improving your comfort and protecting your health. Largo may not be a huge metropolis, but our area does have its share of smog, and the pollutants that smog contains can easily seep into your home.
Frequent high humidity, which encourages mold and dust mites, is another strike against our air quality. On top of that, we have the same dust, pollen and bacteria homeowners everywhere contend with.
An air purifier physically removes contaminants like these from your indoor air. Your health will benefit from fewer lung irritants and disease-causing bacteria floating around. Your air will smell fresher, too, helping you get more enjoyment out of your home.
Not every air purification system offers the same level of effectiveness, though. By choosing the Trane CleanEffects Air Purification System, you’ll be getting one of the most effective systems available.
Unsurpassed Air Cleaning Efficiency
The patented, innovative technology contained in the Trane CleanEffects System allows it to remove up to 99.98 percent of air contaminant particles down to 0.1 micron in size. Consider that the average pollen particle is around 35 microns, so most contaminants are too small to see.
Not even HEPA filters, typically thought of as the gold standard of filtration, are this efficient. U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) standards state that to be classified as HEPA, a filter must trap at least 99.97 percent of particles 0.3 microns or smaller. The CleanEffects system removes even more particles of even smaller sizes.
What High-Efficiency Air Purification Means for You
An air purification system this effective can halve the amount of dust in your home. That could mean an invaluable improvement in quality of life for someone dealing with asthma, COPD and other respiratory conditions. Allergy sufferers, meanwhile, will benefit from fewer pollen particles and mold spores in the air.
Perhaps even more important for your health is the system’s ability to capture the very smallest particles. Particles between 0.3 to 0.1 microns, such as smoke and car exhaust particles, easily slip past your body’s defenses to enter your airways and lungs, where they can cause irritation and inflammation.
Plenty of Clean Air for Your Entire Home
An air purification system does little good for your overall indoor air quality if it cleans only a small amount of air at a time. This is why room air cleaners are best used only to supplement whole-house air cleaning systems.
Whole-house filtration isn’t always enough either. So how do you determine how much clean air each different air filtration or purification method will provide? That’s where Clean Air Delivery Rates (CADR) come in. The CADR tells you the amount of cubic feet per minute of clean air delivered for a typical three-ton heating and cooling system. A higher value means a more effective system and more clean air for you.
Those inexpensive and inefficient one-inch fiberglass air filters offer a CADR of just 12. Electronic air cleaners reach a CADR of 660. That’s a lot better than any filter, but still just over half 1,200 CADR the Trane CleanEffects Air Purification System offers.
How the CleanEffects System Does its Job
The CleanEffects system has two basic levels of filtration. As air enters the system, the pre-filter traps larger particles to prevent them from clogging up the collector cells that lie deeper within.
Next, the field charger imparts the entering contaminant particles with an electrical charge. As these particles pass by the oppositely charged collect cells, the charges attract each other, causing the particles to stick to the cells.
While this technology is similar to that of other electronic air cleaners, the patented design of these cells is what allows CleanEffects to capture up to 99.98 percent of the tiniest particles. To keep the cells clean, you’ll only need to vacuum them once or twice a year.
CleanEffects also offers features that make it more user-friendly. On the front panel display, you’ll find power indicator and filter status lights. If the door is opened, the system stops running to protect your safety.
The whole system is contained in a heavy-duty 18-guage steel case to protect the electronics inside. You’ll never have to worry about your air purifier being damaged when your furnace or air conditioner are serviced.
